Music I'm loving...

I am so in love with this album called The Seldom Seen Kid by Elbow. Every song is so lovely and heartfelt, and gets better every time i listen to it. Just recently Elbow won the Mercury Music Prize of 2008, which was thoroughly deserved. Amazing!!

Drawing Club

I went to a drawing club on tuesday night, it was life drawing of the other people that were around you! It was really good to just sit there and for 2 hours just really get into drawing.
A lovely latte and some soggy brownie goo lovelyness helped me get into my sketching!! I've got a long way to go before they actually resemble the person i'm drawing but oh well, fun all round!

La Vie En Rose

I've just watched an amazing film...La Vie En Rose, about the singer Edith Piaf and her incredible life story. The actress who played her, Marion Cotillard won an Oscar for her performance, and I can say she definitely deserved it. I would recommend this...

Graffiti Art Exhibition near Waterloo Station

I went to London on saturday and we went to an art exhibition which i had been wanting to see. It's a graffiti art exhibition in a tunnel near the waterloo station, which was a proper exhbition showing many artists work in particular Banksy, but now it's no longer and is free to the public to contribute. Some friends who had seen it before said it looked better now, more natural. Personally, i thought it all looked so good, I loved the way the general public's art was sitting next to someone so high profile as Banksy. Everywhere you look is something of interest and the details on some of the graffiti are amazing. Here's some of my faves...

I love Wall-E

Went to see the new Pixar film, Wall-E. It was just soooo good, I've never felt so sorry for a little robot before, amazing imagery, clever sounds so no word were needed, just really good. You know when you come out of the cinema and you're just thinking, wow!! And you can't stop thinking about it...that's Wall-E. I saw these vintage style posters for the film, i think this works so well, for such a modern film.....
Lots of Bots...

Also a book is out called Lots of Bots, text by Kiki Thorpe and illustrated by Ben Butcher. It's a really simple and beautiful execution of parts of the film, but made out of paper, cut into shapes, lovely....

I'm back - fireplace before and after!!

Ok, so I've not done a post in months, been really busy with the house and stuff, but i'm back and raring to go...
Firstly, i want to show off my lovely new fireplace, it's a white modern, art deco inspired fireplace, which looks lovely against our teal feature wall. Alot better than the hideous hole it replaced.....
More to come of the new living room, i love it!!
Off to a Polish restaurant tonight for dinner, lovely! Not sure what to expect!
